It is Friday evening. Pak Latief is talking to one of his friends on the phone. Amir, I must tell you what happened at the bank yesterday morning. It was  ten past eleven. The manager of a big department store brought in a briefcase with Rp 11,000,000 in it.
Rp 11,000,0000? Really?
Yes, he always brings a lot of money into the bank at that time on a Thursday. I looked out of the window  and saw a black car stop in front of the bank. Three men jumped  out , but  the driver stayed in the car. One man waited outside and I saw the other two run into the bank. They both had stockings over their heads and guns in their hands. At the entrance one shouted “hands up!” this is a raid! Give us the briefcase and all the money from the drawers. “We put all the money in the counter and then we stood with our hands on our head.
“Weren’t you terrified?
Yes, very. But Ibu Maria , one of the tellers was extremely brave. The two robbers began to stuff the money into a blue travel bag, but she crept along behind the counter on her hands and knees  and pressed the alarm button.. The robbers didn’t see her. We heard a loud of ring outside the bank and suddenly the robbers were more frightened than us. One shouted to the other. “Come on. Let’s get out  of here. Just wait till that idiot ran ”Shut up!”. The other one  shouted and ran out of the bank, jumped into their car and drove away t the high speed. The police arrived a few minutes after the fast car but they were fast enough and the men escaped.
What did the robbers say? Ram ……? Who is Ram?
That’s what we all want to know. Ramlan perhaps? We have got Ramlan at our bank- Ramlan Susanto. He stayed at home yesterday because  he felt ill It’s what he told the manager on the phone. The police went to his house yesterday but he didn’t come back to the bank so we still don’t know anything.
“very exciting, I must say. But I must go now. Dinner’s ready!.Thank you for the call, Latief. Bye, Bye Amir.

Commodities are raw materials like metals, bauxite or timber and products such as coffee, cocoa and sugar which are called soft commodities. They are traded in bulk large amount through exchanges, the oldest of which is the Royal exchange, which  was given its name by Queen Elizabeth in 1571
Just as Lloyd’s  and the stock exchange began in the coffee house, so commodity  markets developed from coffee houses used by merchants dealing with certain types of product or with particular areas of the world. The Jerusalem coffee House, in the city, for example mainly had  customers whose interests were in the trade with China or Australia.
As the demand for different products changed so the market adapted some specializing in one product like furs, other different products. A few still use traditional west methods, buyers looking at samples then making an offer- but with the more modern forms of trading, buyers making offers before goods have been shipped, which now more  common. However, like Lloyd’s and the stock exchange most trading is done through brokers.

Prices this year are higher than prices last year, and next year things will cost even more than they do now. There are however, many ways to save money. Try to pay the lowest possible prices for item that you need. Here some suggestions.
Compare prices for similar product. Some brands are much more expensive than others, and the quality may not be much better. The quality  of generic  brands, which come in plainer packages than the more famous ‘name brands” may be just as good as the  quality of the higher-priced items
Take the advantage of as many sales as possible, but check that every “bargain” price is really lower than the regular price.
Before you go shopping, make a list of items that are the most important of all to you and buy only those things. Don’t buy things that you don’t need just because they are cheaper than usual and don’t buy items just to keep up with your friend.
